If one wants to have unbiased review about a hotel, the most trusted source should be coming from guest comments. We are happy to share with you a comment about Santai Hotel by Anita who stayed with us last year. Following what she has said about us:

Great place to get away from it all. Santai is right on the beach so you hear the relaxing sound of the surf. Pool is comfortably cool and the water clean and clear.
Bungalows are well kept with good fans and air con. The structures are all natural fiber so there’s a lovely smell of local grasses that make up the roof and walls. The new bathrooms are absolutely great – large, clean, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Each morning the staff leaves coffee on the front porch to enjoy while sitting on the big comfy loveseats there. Service is exceptional and food delicious and plentiful. I also had a massage in the outside pavilion and I was put to sleep!

Santai and the Amed area are true Bali. It’s a great place to get away from it all, re-charge the batteries and re-connect with the simple life. I highly recommend Santai and the Amed area!

Diving Paradise in Amed

Amed – situated in north east Bali 1 hour from Padang Bai & 30 mins from Tulamben Dive Sites – offers Bali’s second best snorkeling site next to Blue Lagoon Padang Bai.The coral garden starts right off the beach breaking the surface with a staghorn coral field and huge schools of fish. The actual dive site can be reached by local boat. The dive starts in a shallow area of 3 to 8 m in a wonderful coral garden.

You may encounter turtles and Bumphead parrot fish. A moderate current will guide you in approx. 20 min to the drop off’s edge. One drop offs drops straight down to 30 m. It is beautifully grown with soft coral and any possible species of reef fish can be found there. White & Black tip reef sharks swims pass occasionally checking out their feeding ground.

The highlight however is an area at 27 m of depth with a sandy field full of blue-spotted stingrays. The other drop off is only 25 m deep, ideal for the subsequent shallower dive. The dive site features a pinnacle, which erects from a depth of 25 m forming a scenic swim through in 20 m. At both drop offs your 5m safety stop will be highly entertaining. Both dives are drift dives with a mild current, with outrigger boats following the divers.

For the wedding to be legally certified in Indonesia and internationally, a religious ceremony has to be performed prior to the civil legal wedding. The religious part will be conducted by a representative of the couple’s own religious belief (i.e. a priest for Catholic, a Minister for Protestant, a celebrant for Hindu and Buddhist and a Penghulu for Moslem).

Foreigners are required to present a “Certificate of No Impediment “or similar document issued by their consulate or Embassy Representative within Indonesia for full civil – legal ceremony. The couple will be receiving two certificates presented at the end of ceremony, one from religious ceremony and from the civil register.

Traditional Balinese Dance Show at Santai Hotel

Balinese dances are a very ancient tradition that is a part of the religious expression among the Balinese people. It is also an integral part of Balinese culture and is performed at main temple festivals and ceremonies.

Now Santai Hotel guests can enjoy regular traditional Balinese dance performance every Tuesday and Friday, takes place at hotel restaurant at 7.30pm. There will be up to 3 different dances featured, among others are Oleg Tamulilingan, Kebyar Duduk, Panjem Brahma and Cendrawasih.

A quesadilla is a Mexican food made primarily of cheese inside a folded corn or wheat tortilla and cooked until the cheese melts. Occasionally a second ingredient is added with the cheese to add variety to the dish. Quesadillas can be stuffed with ingredients other than just cheese. Fillings may include: pumpkin flower, beans, sausage, chicken, carne asada, ham, refried beans, maple syrup, sour cream, avocado or guacamole, potatoes, spinach, mushrooms, raw eggs, scrambled eggs, hamburger, yak, shrimp, bacon, etc. Salsas may also be added.
